Spanish Abroad - Spanish language
In four of the five continents Spanish is spoken: in Europe, in America, in Africa and Asia. The countries where it is spoken are very different. The culture, the pronunciation, some words and some aspects of the grammar are different. But all they understood each other because they spoke a same language that is Spanish.
In spite of being a language spoken in so different zones, until now still a certain uniformity in the cultured level of the language exists that allows the people from one or another side of the Ocean to be understood each other with relative facility.
The greater differences are of suprasegmental character, that is, the varied intonation, born apparently of the diverse linguistic influences that exist in those countries of Hispanic speech.
The spelling and the linguistic norm assure the uniformity the language. Spanish is the Castilian which left the heart of Spain and took to all the corners of the world. It is here in Spain where the authentic Spanish is spoken. It is one of the reasons more students learn the pure Spanish there. But there are left more reasons to come to study Spanish to Spain.
